Me and Walshy Fire did a show in Nairobi 3 years ago.. We had no idea what was going on Africa, you have to clear your mind of whatever notions you might have.. The party was out of control . Energy and vibes high all night long..They literally had to keep the floor boards propped up with wooden poles to keep it from falling in. We decided we had to go back and do more. You don't understand how diverse the Dj culture is all over the continent, and how progressive the parties are.. Did you know there are 190 million people in Nigeria? Over 100 million in Ethiopia? African music right now is at a golden age. From Lagos to Durban there is such a big movement locally and we have been paying attention to all the scenes for years... Working with some of the best like Davido, Wizkid, Dj Maphoria, FuseODG, Mr Eazi, Skalez, Burner Boy on Major Lazer music and to have the radio stations playing some of our songs has been huge for us.. It's been a long time planning but we decided to go and put some shows together . Some places I never expected to bring out such any kind of crowd, like Kampala and Addis Ababa but sometimes we had 7000 kids coming to party with us..Being able to spend time making music in Nigeria with some of our biggest influences this year.. We want to be on the frontier of all the African scenes that are growing and help them reach the rest of the world.
