Vevo Meets: Middle Kids. 2017
Aussies Hannah Joy, Tim Fitz and Harry Day were all pursuing solo projects in Sydney before they formed Middle Kids in 2016. The budding indie-rockers clicked immediately: “When [we] came together, we struck something,” Joy says. “We found a sound. It's still developing, but we found something that resonated with us so much.” That unique spark is evident in “Edge of Town,” the moody and propulsive track which got a huge lift when Elton John raved about it on his Beats 1 show. The trio has since wowed audiences in the US, UK, and Europe – “the journey so far has been mindblowing,” Joy says – and future hits “Old River” and “Never Start” from their self-titled EP will be resonating with even bigger crowds. Vevo caught up with the talented trio to discuss and the best way to release tracks, hand-made violins, and writing symphonies.
