Les Claypool from Primus talks "Goblin Rock" 2017
Primus combines ferocious chops, careening rhythms, and a twisted sense of humor all in one package. Bassist Les Claypool, guitarist Larry “Ler” LaLonde, and drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander have been warping minds since 1989, unleashing the landmark albums 'Pork Soda' and 'Tales from the Punchbowl' and taking their manic vision further with wild videos for “Jerry Was a Race Car Driver,” “My Name Is Mud," and “Wynona's Big Brown Beaver.” In May, Primus performed on the final day of the Rock On The Range fest in Columbus, Ohio. Ben Weinman, guitarist with the Dillinger Escape Plan, connected backstage with Claypool, who talks about playing fests, the evolution of the band's “goblin rock” sound and his choice of instrument.
