"I started going to Foreigner's parties in Los Angeles a few years ago. Aside from the great music, I liked the punk rock ethics that embodied the scene he was a part of. It was about a decommodification of dance music – more about community than making money. His original party RAIL UP had no social media, no website and a no photo policy. This is what attracted me to punk music as a teenager; music was special and intimate. It was something you shared with a tight knit group of people in a small room that most of the outside world didn't know about it, and that made it even more special.
